When we look like what we have been through.

So glad at times, we do not have to hide behind a mask. We can take the time and look like what we have been though.

Relationship burnout, job dissatisfaction, the burden of caring for an elderly parent, loss of a loved one that was loved/cherished/adored, breast cancer, life’s drama, finances that will not stretch with an ever changing and unpredictable economy, systems that continue to ignore the disenfranchised, people who demonstrate how far removed they are from reality, plus so much more.

Life has chipped away at us all in so many ways and sometimes, it is okay to look like what we have been through.

That’s the beauty of a woman, to be herself, to step outside of boxes that others have ever so gently determined that she needs to be placed in. When we look like what we have been through, we are still beautiful but with moist eyes that may let tears slide down caring and courageous cheeks.

When we look like what we have been through, we are still insightful but also thoughtful and more knowledgeable.

When we look like what we have been through, we are a portrait unfinished but with brilliant colors and determined strokes that this may be our today but it does not dictate our tomorrows.

When we look like what we have been through.
